Work With Me
Career Counselling for Young Adults 18+
Not where you want to be? Not sure where you’re going? I can help.
Perhaps you tried university or college and it didn’t work out? Or maybe you didn’t attend post-secondary after high school — and now you want to? Maybe your plan isn’t turning out how you wanted — or perhaps you’re still waiting for that plan to formulate. No matter where you’re at, I can help you move forward. This isn’t the end … it’s just the beginning!
The reality is, finding one’s way easily into the job or career of their dreams is a rarity (especially without guidance). Some may stumble onto a good fit, but those are the lucky few. And staying in the wrong situation while waiting for luck isn’t a good strategy.
The wrong educational path or job drains energy, time, and happiness from your life. Your WHOLE life is affected — the dissatisfaction spills into other areas of your life, affecting relationships, mood, and general wellness. This is why working with a career counsellor at this point in your journey is a great idea!
After each meeting, I synthesize and organize the insights in your own custom career guide that you’ll receive at the end of our work together. Your completed career guide will continue to serve as a useful reference for research and decision-making throughout your career.
At the end of each meeting, I will also assign a small amount of homework including exercises relating to your specific career needs and goals.
During our sessions:
We gain clarity.
Through discussion, structured activities, and formal, standardized career assessments (including the popular Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), we uncover themes and patterns — and begin to hone in on what’s right for you.
If school is next on your plan, we’ll explore education next-steps.
We'll explore the kinds of work that will fulfill you the most and map out the educational route—be it through university, college, or an apprenticeship program—to guide you there.
You walk away with next steps, relief — and a report to guide you.
As you move forward with peace-of-mind, you’ll also have your own customized career guide. This comprehensive digital report will include summaries of our discussions, insights from assessments, and a list of potential career and educational paths. Plus, it'll outline actionable steps for you to take next.
